Freedom seems to be the wordly theme at present with all the uprising in the Middle East, China and India so far. Am sure other countries will follow slowly,but surely, as human beings are fed up of being controlled and kept at their minimum. If one compared this to the human developmental stages, one could call it The Child State.
I haven´t really thought it through, as to what Total freedom would bring in practical terms,but I know vis-a-vis Human Rights, no one Human has the right to control another. It is peculiar,and sad,that Greed and Power, both Egocentric Qualities,seemed to have dominated the world so far and I hope that now Love, Peace and Joy will be the motivating ones next.
I have known Freedom for a while now as have come to Accept, Trust and Love myself and Personal Freedom paves the way to Freedom in the world. Starting with freeing oneself from one´s own conditioning, addictions and any character defects that do not benefit one, actually paves the way to not permitting others to cage you either. Of course, this Freedom must not ever harm anyone else in any way and implies being fully responsible for oneself,too.
Abundance is available to all who seek it…..
So beautifully expressed, Raksha, and so true ! God created us all equal, with our own unique characteristics, and minds to think for ourselves , and yet, we have totally different circumstances . While some of us enjoy our freedom and our assets, we have to be ruled our own conscience, more than anything else ! That is freedom…that is the beauty and diversity of life ! Social change has to come, in most countries…sooner than later……..living in India, I know that more than anything ! Living in a metropolis where people are so consumed by themselves, and power ,politics,egos, greed and corruption , and cannot see beyond themselves in the mirror, or outside their front doors, is revolting ! To me, starting right at home, freedom is in realising that even if someone is your servant, they are equal to you, and deserve the same love and respect that you would want for yourself !
India needs an uprising of sorts too, so that the enormous disparity between the filthy rich, and the drastically poor is lessened, and so that corruption which is at an all time high, is dealt with, and our taxes are used to raise the standard of living for the entire country, rather than to fill our politician’s pockets !
There are good people in the world, but there are also too many who just turn a blind eye, because it does not affect them, and because it’s easier and more convenient to do so !
I too , pray for a world filled with more love, peace and plenty for all……..if everyone did their little bit….we can make this change happen !
