Meditation

Meditation is a process by which we can connect with our souls and inner selves and find guidance and peace, in our inner selves and therefore in our outer lives..

It is also a technique which helps us to relax and regenerate energy to our whole being. By this, I mean on every level; physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. Though all religions include this in their scriptures,in one form or another,it does not have have any religious connection whatsover for me.

To me it is a pure form of spirituality,my definition of which is: ¨Being Myself¨ or ¨The process by which I Become Whole.¨ On the mental plane,it helps us to clear and organise our thinking and ultimately acheiving a completely thought free mind which is pure bliss!

Emotional balance is the main advantage of regular meditation as the Feeling of Peace is a wonderful Remedy for any emotional upsets. Physically,it is very restful, so gives us a break from our day’s activities or and while we are in meditation, the body re-aligns itself naturally, as much as it can…

If first thing in the morning, then an advantage for sure. Of course, all this happens if we meditate daily for a decent span of time;a minimum of 20 mins to half an hour. Regular practice, like every other skill, will allow the same results in a shorter time.

For a beginner. It is best to be alone in a quiet place in your home and sit yourself in a comfy chair with your back supported. For the more supple, you can sit on the floor on a comfy cushion in a lotus position (legs crossed one on top of each other) also with your back supported properly against the wall. Do dress warmly as you will get colder as you relax. Don´t do anything, just allow your thoughts to come and go and sooner or later the process described will happen. For some it is immediate and for some it takes a long time and anywhere in between. Some will manage it alone and some will need help with it.

Of course, there are many other techniques to acheive the state of meditation also, like:

Focussing on a Particular Image or your Breadth, Visualization process, Chanting Mantras, Chakra Meditation etc etc..and all will take you to your Self sooner or later..

Yoga beforehand is a great way to go into mediatation.

Hope you will include Meditation into your life in 2009 as it will surely help one and all, especially in these very troubled times; Being Calm and Peaceful and Healthy reflects in our lives and so even sorts out financial matters……
